The Juncker Commission declared the Energy Union – announced as a project to make energy more secure, affordable and sustainable – to be one of its political priorities for 2015-2019. A year before the end of this term, the College of Europe European Energy Policy Energy Chair and Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP) Berlin will look ahead to the future of the Energy Union, in their high-level conference entitled “Quo Vadis Energy Union” in Berlin on 7 September 2018.
Thomas Pellerin-Carlin moderates the debate on the governance of the Energy Union. Jean-Arnold Vinois participes in the debate “Beyond the Energy Union I: EU energy and climate policy for the future”.
The high-level roundtable will consist of three panel debates and a keynote speech:
09:00 > 09:15 Welcome Speech
09:15 > 09:30 Introduction: The Energy Union: Where we are and where to go from here
09:45 > 11:15 Debate: The Energy Union’s Governance
11:45 > 13:00 Debate: Beyond the Energy Union I: EU energy and climate policy for the future
14:00 > 15:30 Debate: Beyond the Energy Union II: EU energy relations and the changing international landscape
The programme of the day is available on the website of the College of Europe.
