Better Understanding Europe Book Prize

Creation of the Prize

This book prize was created in 2009 by the Centre de Culture Européenne (CCE) in Saint-Jean-d’Angély (Charente-Maritime) on the initiative of its president, Francine Vaniscotte. Its aim is to reward a book devoted to or related to European issues and accessible to young people. The prize is aimed at secondary school pupils, students and teachers, as well as the general public, and must meet three criteria: readability, recent publication and a reasonable number of pages.

Since 2018 and the end of the CCE’s activities, the prize has been hosted by the Jacques Delors Institute in Paris, where the jury meets every year.
