Camille Defard

Camille Defard has been a research fellow at the Jacques Delors Institute on energy-related topics since February 2021 and was head of the Jacques Delors Energy Center (JDEC) until November 2024.

She has worked at GreenYellow as a project finance officer, supporting climate resilience initiatives in Africa and the Indian Ocean, and at the French Treasury in Nairobi on sustainable development issues in East Africa. She has also been a junior public policy analyst on European energy policy at EDF.

Camille Defard holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and social sciences (Paris-Dauphine University), a master’s degree in European affairs (Sciences Po), and a master’s degree in energy, environment, and transport economics (Paris-Saclay University). She studied at George Washington University and is fluent in French, English, and German, with a basic knowledge of Swahili.
