Daniel Debomy

Daniel Debomy is the founder and director of the OPTEM public opinion research institute, a European network specializing in qualitative studies of citizens’ perceptions of the European Union. For more than 25 years, he has been conducting in-depth analyses of the attitudes, expectations, and reservations of citizens in the 27 Member States and beyond towards the EU and its policies for the European Commission and other organizations.

His work is based on Eurobarometer and Parlemeter surveys, as well as long-term qualitative investigations, enabling him to decipher the evolution of European public opinion in the face of crises, globalization, and political transformations.

He also teaches courses on European issues at several schools and universities and regularly publishes analyses and policy papers on the state of public opinion towards Europe.
