Florent Parmentier

Associated researcher, Moldova

Florent Parmentier is a geopolitical scientist and associate researcher at the Jacques Delors Institute (Centre Grande Europe), where his work focuses on European geopolitics, the European Union’s eastern neighbors (particularly Moldova and Ukraine), and relations between Europe and the major powers. He is also Secretary General of the Center for Political Research (CEVIPOF) at Sciences Po and an associate researcher at the Center for Geopolitics at HEC Paris.

His research analyzes political and strategic dynamics in post-Soviet Eastern Europe, European neighborhood policy, and issues of strategic foresight. He is the author of numerous books and articles on these subjects, including Moldova at the Crossroads of Worlds and The Paths of the Rule of Law. Florent Parmentier also teaches geopolitics and strategic foresight at Sciences Po.

Florent Parmentier holds a doctorate in political science, with a thesis on European neighborhood policy, completed at Sciences Po. He has conducted research in China and Antananarivo, and is a regular contributor to media outlets and publications on contemporary geopolitical challenges.
