Jean-Michel Glachant

Jean-Michel Glachant is an academic and expert in energy economics and policy. He has 35 years of experience studying the creation of open energy markets, associated regulations, and corporate behavior, as well as 20 years of experience in defining and implementing European policies and 15 years in European decarbonization policies. He is the author of approximately 25 books and 150 articles and reports on these subjects.
From 2008 to 2022, he was Director of the Florence School of Regulation at the European University Institute. In 2022, he was elected President of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) and in 2023, he became a member of the Scientific Council of the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE). He is also an associate researcher at the Jacques Delors Institute, where he works on European energy policies and the energy transition.
