Tefta Kelmendi

Tefta Kelmendi is a foreign policy analyst specializing in European Union policies toward the Western Balkans and the Eastern Neighborhood. Her work focuses on EU enlargement, democracy promotion, and changing geopolitical dynamics in these regions. She also analyzes security issues and protracted conflicts in the Western Balkans and several countries in the Eastern Neighborhood.

She was recently Deputy Director of the Wider Europe program at the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). Previously, she served as a diplomat at the Embassy of Kosovo in France, responsible for relations with French-speaking countries, promoting international recognition of Kosovo, and its integration into international organizations. She also worked at the Ministry of European Integration of Kosovo on human rights policies, with a focus on minority rights and integration.

She holds a master’s degree in international security from Sciences Po – Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA).
