William Malaterre

Communications & Events Officer

William Malaterre has been Head of Communications and Events at the Jacques Delors Institute since January 2026. He is responsible for designing and implementing the Institute’s communication strategy, as well as for organising and ensuring the smooth running of events hosted by the Institute or in which it is involved. He is also further developing his expertise in press relations.

Prior to joining the Jacques Delors Institute, William began as a civic service volunteer in October 2025, working within the Institute’s educational initiatives. He also gained professional experience at the European University College Association (EucA) as Communications Coordinator for Western Europe, notably in the framework of the EU Changemakers project, which aimed to encourage youth participation in the 2024 European elections. In addition, he contributed to the development of the work programme and the events associated with the Voices of Migrations project.

William is also a member of the Young Think Tankers network of New Eastern Europe magazine, based in Wrocław, Poland.

He holds a double Bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), as well as an Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree in Public Affairs and European Politics (EPS). This academic background enabled him to study in several European countries, including Charles University in Prague, Leiden University (Netherlands) and the Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Poland). A graduate of the College of Europe in International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs, he has in-depth knowledge of European institutions, their governance, and the European Union’s external action.

His native languages are English and French. He also speaks German and Dutch, and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
