Xavier Prats Monné is an expert in European affairs and public policy, specializing in the fields of health, education, and European governance. He is currently chairman of the board of directors of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, chairman of the European Committee of the King Baudouin Foundation, chairman of the European council of TEACH FOR ALL, and advisor to several European organizations, including the Jacques Delors Institute.
He has held senior positions at the European Commission, including Director-General of DG Health and Food Safety (2015-2018) and Director-General of DG Education and Culture (2011-2015), where he oversaw major European policies and programs such as Erasmus+.
Xavier Prats Monné holds a bachelor’s degree in social anthropology from the Complutense University of Madrid, a postgraduate degree in economic development policies, and an advanced diploma in European studies from the College of Europe in Bruges. His working languages are Spanish, French, and English. He also speaks Italian and Catalan.
