And we're off! Around 350 citizens, aged 18 to 78, from 27 Member States, will come together at the European Parliament from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 October to discuss the future of the EU and its role in the world.
And we’re off! Around 350 citizens, aged 18 to 78, from 27 Member States, will come together at the European Parliament from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 October to discuss the future of the EU and its role in the world.
The scale of the event is unprecedented: more than 80 interpreters, and people from all over Europe – some of whom have never left their country before. This first pan-European Deliberative Poll is a project initiated and coordinated by Notre Europe in the framework of ‘Plan D’, in partnership with about 20 sponsors and other groups from all over the EU.
Will these ‘ordinary’ citizens, representative of the European population, be able to engage in a meaningful, productive dialogue? Will political leaders take into account the way that opinions change on key issues for the future of the EU? For all the details, see the Tomorrow’s Europe site.
