Enabling the Energy Transition: Understanding the drivers of energy choices in Europe

Date – Thursday, 26 September 2019, from 09:00a.m to 05.00p.m
Location – Thon Hotel EU (Rue de la Loi 75, Brussels, Belgium)

Join us to understand how behaviours and practices shape the energy transition. As the European Union embraces a citizen-oriented energy transition, we have researched how individuals make energy choices in 11 European countries.

The work we have done as part of the Horizon 2020-funded ENABLE.EU project has brought to light new evidence on how we consume energy at home, how we move, and how we decide to produce our own electricity. We now want to get your opinion on the recommendations we have formulated for our decision-makers on transport, heating, and electricity consumption and production, whether you have been immersed in the energy sector for years or simply have a curious mind. Using breakout sessions and presentations of our key findings and our work on national energy policy, we will show you how households can contribute to European long-term climate and energy targets, and see how the next European Commission could foster a citizen-led energy transition.
