While the European elections take place in one year, the future of Europe became a a topic in itself. Many various events have made it to the top of the European agenda, either it was Brexit negotiations, threats to the Rule of Law in many Member States, the rise of euroskepticism throughout the EU and the crisis of its legitimacy, the failure of transnational lists at the European Parliament, etc. all these events ask for a greater answer to the following question: which European Union do we want after 2019? Which EU French, German or Polish citizens want? What are the differences and commonalities? Which factors influence the national perception to the EU?
To tackle these questions, Young European from Paris, Berlin and Warsaw have decided to gather together to determine “One Vision” for Europe. Sébastien Maillard contributes to their debate by exposing his thoughts on the notion of “European democracy” and exchange his ideas with participants.
