Résumé:

The Jacques Delors Institute is pleased to host a conversation with Kyriákos Pierrakákis dedicated to the major economic challenges Europe is currently facing.

In a context marked by growing geopolitical tensions and increasing instability in the global order, the Minister will share his analysis of the transformations shaping the international economy and their direct implications for the euro area.

This event will also provide an opportunity to discuss the European Union’s and the Eurogroup’s key structural challenges: strengthening European competitiveness – notably through progress on the Savings and Investments Union – accelerating the energy transition, as well as the challenges and opportunities linked to digitalisation.

Kyriákos Pierrakákis will reflect on Greece’s remarkable trajectory, having become in just a few years a model of economic recovery and digital modernisation. Former Minister of Digital Governance between 2019 and 2023, he will provide valuable insights into the drivers of resilience and innovation that are essential to the future of the European Union.
