United States: defining a strategy for Europe

*Only in French, you can add subtitles on YouTube*

The US presidential election, which saw Joe Biden finally defeat Donald Trump, represents a real opportunity for the European Union to assert its role on the international stage by redefining its relations with the world’s leading power. During this conference, organised by our Vice-President, Nicole Gnesotto, with the support of the Gulbenkian Foundation, our speakers will analyse the consequences of these extraordinary US elections for transatlantic relations and for Europe. Their discussions, broadcast online from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) in Paris, began with speeches by Olivier Faron, Administrator General of the CNAM, Sébastien Maillard, Director of the Jacques Delors Institute, Nicole Gnesotto, Vice-President of the Jacques Delors Institute, and Arancha González, Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
