According to Josep Borrell, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, the war in Ukraine could force 5 million Ukrainians to flee the bombing of their country and seek refuge in the European Union. This wave of migration, which has been welcomed with solidarity by member states since its inception, will be the largest since the end of the Second World War and will upset the balance and public opinion.
What are the challenges for Europe in welcoming these refugees? What impact will this massive influx of refugees have on the European Union’s migration policy? We will discuss these issues with our advisor on migration issues, Jérôme Vignon.
