[FR] Euroquestions #43 | What to expect from the next European Council?

Our President, Enrico Letta, former Italian Prime Minister and Secretary of the Italian Democratic Party, will speak at Euroquestions to give his analysis of the main topics expected to be discussed at the European Council meeting on 23 and 24 June, the last summit to be held during the French Presidency of the Council of the EU.

This summit in Brussels is expected to focus on the war in Ukraine and its impact on economic issues, particularly in the areas of agriculture and energy. The 27 Member States will also discuss the idea of a European Political Community, launched by Emmanuel Macron and supported by Enrico Letta, as well as whether or not to grant candidate status in response to new membership applications. They are also expected to support enlargement to the Balkan countries. Finally, the heads of state and government are expected to discuss the follow-up to the Conference on the Future of Europe, which ended on 9 May.

So what can we expect from this final highlight of an ambitious French Presidency of the Council of the European Union?
