[FR] Euroquestions #87 | Europe: is the worst yet to come?

Why do we, as Europeans, feel that the worst is yet to come? Following the election of Donald Trump, tensions in the Middle East, the ongoing war in Ukraine and the threat of global warming, our future seems increasingly uncertain. Many analysts share a feeling that everything is moving faster and faster, getting worse and worse, with no one in control. Our European societies have every reason to doubt the future. How can we work towards European unity? Who has a vision for the future? Is democracy in danger?
We are pleased to welcome Nicole Gnesotto, Vice-President of the Jacques Delors Institute. She will present her book Choisir l’avenir – 10 réponses sur le monde qui vient (Choosing the future – 10 answers about the world to come), recently published by CNRS, and discuss the many possible scenarios, from the worst to the best, from the most conflictual to the most peaceful.
