Title:

Roundtable: New World Order – Where Is Economic Geopolitics Heading?

Context:

Global balances are shifting, shaping an unprecedented and unstable geopolitical landscape. Between open confrontations and inward-looking tendencies, these upheavals are profoundly transforming the global economy, weakening the structures of international governance and reshuffling the cards of power.

Key Questions:

  • Are we on the brink of a new world order?
  • Are “geoeconomics”, the use of economic tools to advance political power, becoming the dominant strategic logic?
  • What scenarios lie ahead for the coming decades, and what tensions, alliances, or ruptures might emerge?

Speakers:

This roundtable will feature Pierre Haroche, Associate Research Fellow at the Jacques Delors Institute and Associate Professor in European and International Politics, and Vincent Vicard, Deputy Director of CEPII. The discussion will be moderated by Aliette Hovine, journalist at France Culture.
