[FR] European citizens and Ukraine two years after the Russian invasion

Support remains strong, despite slight erosion and notable reservations in some Member States

It has now been more than two years since Ukraine was invaded by Russia in February 2022. European countries, like the United States, have since provided massive aid. This aid was recently renewed, after a ‘standoff’ with Hungarian leader Viktor Orban, who claimed to oppose it, while in the United States, President Biden struggled to pass a new package that Republicans sought to block.

This document analyses the situation as it stands in spring 2024 and how it has evolved since the first surveys on this subject were conducted. It follows on from two documents previously published by the Jacques Delors Institute since the outbreak of the conflict.
