[FR] The words of the campaign: Nationalism

Concepts such as populism, nationalism, progressivism and sovereignty are currently shaping the main lines of political confrontation. These terms, which all have a long history, are still evolving today and are the subject of numerous debates: historical debates on their origin and semantic evolution; questions about their place in the construction of new political narratives; debates about their nature, between genuine ideological positions and political communication strategies.

Too often, the frequent use of these concepts in public debates does not sufficiently reflect the complexity of their definitions and requires essential analysis and clarification. With this in mind, ‘Words of the Campaign’ offers a multifaceted analysis of each of the terms selected, with the aim of enabling readers to better understand their complexity.

This week, we focus on the term ‘nationalism’.
