[FR] The words of the campaign: progressivism
This publication is available in french.

‘Les mots de la campagne’ is a monthly series of publications produced in partnership by the Groupe d’Etudes Géopolitiques (GEG) of the École Normale Supérieure (Ulm) and the Institut Jacques Delors. It offers an analysis of key words likely to shape the forthcoming European election campaign.
Concepts such as populism, nationalism, progressivism and sovereignism are currently shaping a veritable field of political confrontation. These terms, which all have a long history, are still under constant development, and there are many debates about them: historical debates about their origins and their semantic evolution; questions about their place in the construction of new political narratives; debates about their nature, between genuine ideological positions and political communication strategies.
All too often, the frequent use of these concepts in public debate does not adequately reflect the complexity of their definition, and must lead to an essential work of analysis and clarification. With this in mind, ‘Les mots de la campagne’ offers a multi-faceted analysis of each of the terms selected, with the aim of enabling readers to better grasp their complexity.
