Claudia Hefftler is Ph.D. candidate and research assitant at the Jean Monnet Chair, University of Cologne. She holds a diploma in Regional Studies of Latin America (equivalent to Maasters degree) which comprised the subjects of politics, history and portuguese language. In the course of her studies she focussed on EU politics and wrote her final thesis on the quest of an European Identity.
