Jean Quatremer studied law and was responsible for tutorials at the Faculty of Law in Paris X-Nanterre and Paris II-Assas. He also worked in a law firm authorized to plead at the Council of State and the Court of Cassation. Since September 1990, he has been responsible for covering community news for the newspaper Libération, of which he is the correspondent for the European institutions. In the same newspaper, from 1984 to 1990, he wrote in the “Immigration” section and was then responsible for the “Europe” section from 1990 to 1992. He often dealt with legal issues.
Jean Quatremer has produced numerous reports on European or societal topics for television (France 2, France 5, Arte, Canal + Belgium). Among his films, we find: Money makers (2009), The Union and the force (2009), Euro, when the markets attack (2010) (all three realized with Jean-Michel Meurice) or Greece year zero (2014) realized with Pierre Bourgeois.
