Laurent Vinatier

Expert on Russia and Central Asia. A Ph.D. candidate at Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, he focuses on the conflict in Chechnya. In 2002 he published l’islamisme en Asie centrale, an account of Islamic developments in the formerly Soviet republics of Central Asia and the Caucasus. Laurent Vinatier is a fluent Russian speaker. He is a regular contributor to various books and journals, such as Dico Rebelle 2004, Géoéconomie. Le Courrier des Pays de l’Est, Futuribles, Politique Internationale.
