Matthias Fekl is former French Minister for the Interior (2017), Secretary of State for Foreign trade (2014 – 2017), and member of the National Assembly (2012 – 2014). He has always been strongly committed to European values. Today, he is a lawyer at the Paris Bar (alternative dispute resolution, international investments, public law) and founding partner of the law firm Audit – Duprey – Fekl and of the international mediation firm Equanim International. He is also a board member of the French Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and of Paris City of law, and columnist for the newspaper L’Opinion.
After studying at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Lettres et Sciences humaines), Sciences-Po and ENA, he was an administrative judge and maître de conférences in public law at Sciences-Po in Paris (2005 – 2010).
He was born in 1977, his parents being French and German. He is married and father of two children.
