Peter Timmerman holds a bachelor degree in Communication Management from the Arteveldehogeschool Gent (2004) and a master degree in Political Sciences from the Ghent University (2007).
In October 2007, he joined the Royal Institute for International Relations (EGMONT Brussels), the think tank associated with the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Research fellow in the European Studies Department, where he focuses on the common agricultural policy, regulatory issues and others aspects of the external relations of the European Union.
He speaks Dutch, French, English and Italian
