Sacha Courtial

Since September 2022, Sacha Courtial has been personal assistant to Pascal Lamy, who coordinates the work of the three Jacques Delors Institutes (Paris, Berlin and Brussels). Since January 2023, he has also been Secretary of the Institute’s EU-China Working Group, where he takes part in strategic discussions on economic and geopolitical relations between the European Union and China.

At the same time, Sacha is a member of the Executive Board of the French branch of the pan-European movement Volt Europa. He is also a Fellow of the OpenDiplomacy Institute.

Before joining the Institut Jacques Delors, Sacha carried out several internships in the field of renewable energies, at the French National Assembly and in Beijing in the field of environmental protection. He also worked in Valérie Hayer’s budget committee at the European Parliament.

He holds a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics specialising in economic governance in Europe and China, and wrote his dissertation on the European Union’s multiannual financial framework. His working languages are French, English, Spanish and Chinese (Mandarin).
