14:30 Euroquestions #4 | Migration and Asylum: building on the Commission’s proposal

Presented by Jérôme Vignon, advisor on migration issues at the Jacques Delors Institute.
The European Commission has just proposed a New Pact on Migration and Asylum. Is it capable of addressing the serious shortcomings of the Dublin Regulation? What new model of solidarity does it define between Member States? Does it enable us to deal with situations of distress such as those recently observed at the Mória camp?
The presentation will highlight the new features of the Pact, how it builds on proposals already on the table, and the shortcomings that will need to be addressed in order to reach agreement on its provisions and thus build a truly common immigration and asylum policy.
