Eneko Landaburu

Eneko Landaburu is a former Director-General of the European Commission and President of COOPMED. He joined the European Commission in 1986 and served as Director-General for Regional and Cohesion Policy until 2000, then as Director-General in charge of Enlargement, acting as chief negotiator with candidate countries for EU accession until 2003.

He subsequently served as Director-General for External Relations until September 2009 and, from 1993 to 2000, was a member of the Board of Directors of the European Investment Bank (EIB). From 2009 to 2013, he was Ambassador and Head of the European Union Delegation to the Kingdom of Morocco.
