Riccardo Perissich

Riccardo Perissich, of Italian and French nationality, has been a Senior Fellow at the School of Political Economy of LUISS in Rome since 2018. He began his career at Italconsult S.p.A. (1962–1964), then became Head of European Community Studies at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (I.A.I) in Rome and Deputy Director of the Institute.

In 1970, he joined the European Commission, serving as Chief of Cabinet to Altiero Spinelli and three other Commissioners, later becoming Deputy Director-General of DG Internal Market and Industrial Affairs, and Director-General of DG Industry (1990–1994).

In the private sector, he was Director of Public Affairs at Pirelli S.p.A. (1994–2001), Head of Public and Economic Affairs at Telecom Italia (2001–2006), and Chairman of Seat Pagine Gialle and OniCommunications. He also served on numerous boards and industrial organizations in Italy and internationally, including the Jacques Delors Institute – Notre Europe Foundation (Paris).

Author of several works on the European Union and international policy, he has also published novels since 2012. He is a Knight of the French Order of Arts and Letters.
