[FR] Euroquestions #21 | German elections: what are the Greens’ ambitions?

With its parliamentary elections ending on 26 September, Germany is preparing to turn the page on the Merkel era. After 16 years in power, the CDU remains a slight favourite in the polls, but the Green Party could make a comeback in a coalition that is currently proving difficult to form. The Greens’ participation could have a significant impact on the German economy and on its foreign and European policy.

This Euroquestion will seek to understand what Bündnis 90/Die Grünen is today: its history, its vision, its electorate, its priorities, particularly in Europe, its leadership and its ability to compromise in order to form a federal executive capable of leading the ecological and social transition of the German economy, in line with its stated objective.

For this September event, we will welcome Sébastien Maillard, Director of the Jacques Delors Institute and author of the analysis ‘What are the ambitions of the German Greens?’
