[FR] Euroquestions #79 | EU–Africa: Towards a renewal of relations?

The European Union’s cooperation with African countries and the African Union goes beyond general clichés that focus on migration. The two continents have deep-rooted relations. In February 2022, African and European leaders agreed at an EU-Africa summit on a shared vision for a partnership aimed at creating an area of solidarity, security, peace and sustainable prosperity. Recently, Italy declared its intention to join forces with the countries of the southern Mediterranean for strategic partnerships on energy. How can we improve cooperation in research into strategic materials, which is vital for the EU? How can we continue to invest when China is doubling its funding in Africa? What opportunities are there for joint action on climate change?
We are pleased to welcome Guillaume Arditti, associate researcher at the Jacques Delors Institute and expert on EU-Africa relations.
