[FR] A comparison of European political party manifestos

With the European elections fast approaching on 7 June, it seems essential to clarify the issues at stake in the upcoming vote. To this end, Notre Europe is providing citizens with a comparative table of the electoral programmes of European political parties.

This document lists the various proposals put forward in the electoral programmes of seven transnational European parties (some European parties are not included in the comparison because they have not published a specific programme). These parties are the European People’s Party (EPP, conservatives and Christian democrats); the Party of European Socialists (PES, labour, socialist and social democrats); the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party (ELDR, liberals); the European Democratic Party (EDP, centrists); the European Greens (ecologists); the European Left (socialists and communists); and the European Free Alliance (regionalists).

To make it easier to read, we have identified six main themes: economic and social policies, energy and the environment, the common agricultural policy, justice and home affairs, foreign policy, and institutions/citizens. Each theme is then divided into more specific categories.
