[FR] Energy transition in the age of parliamentarianism: for a debate that matches the urgency of the situation

In partnership with the Jean Jaurès Foundation

In the absence of an absolute majority in the chamber, discussions on the adoption of an energy and climate policy bill will provide France with an opportunity to try out a new decision-making method, already widely used by our European neighbours: that of true parliamentarianism. On the occasion of the appointment of the new government, Benoît Calatayud, member of the Foundation’s Energy Transition Observatory, Alain Delmestre, national secretary for energy transition of the Socialist Party, and Phuc-Vinh Nguyen, researcher on European and French energy policies at the Jacques Delors Institute’s Energy Centre, propose establishing a new framework for discussion in order to build a cross-party consensus on energy issues.
