[FR] National legislation originating in the EU: dispelling the 80% myth

The idea that 80% of the law or legislation in force at national level is of ‘Community origin’ has recently spread so rapidly that it sometimes seems to be self-evident, both to critics of European integration and to some of its zealots. However, has such a claim ever been seriously substantiated? Who could today cite these 80% of national laws presumed to be of ‘Community origin’, when even in France it seems difficult at first glance to identify even a dozen among the hundred or so laws adopted each year during recent legislative sessions?
