[FR] Strengthening the Energy Union to achieve the Green Deal in the era of polycrisis

With a new European Commission about to take office, does the EU have the tools it needs to successfully implement the European Green Deal while achieving the other objectives of the Energy Union, namely energy security, competitiveness and affordable prices for households? This article will first review the recent progress made by the Green Deal and the Energy Union, before showing that the EU’s instruments are not yet up to the task given the scale of the challenges, and finally outlining recommendations that would enable the EU to achieve the objectives of the Energy Union, namely climate neutrality, while ensuring energy security and reasonable prices for households, businesses and industry.
