[FR] What farming models for European societies in the 21st century?

In 1957, agreement on the role of agriculture was such that agricultural policy was defined in the Treaty of Rome itself. According to Article 39, the objectives of the CAP were to: increase agricultural productivity by promoting technical progress and ensuring the optimum use of all factors of production, in particular labour; ensure a fair standard of living for the agricultural community, in particular by raising the individual earnings of persons engaged in agricultural activities; stabilise markets; to guarantee security of supply; to ensure reasonable prices for consumers. The objectives of the CAP were simple and clear, consistent, supported by all and adopted without major difficulty by the parliaments of the six founding countries. It was “the golden age”…
