Martine Aubry was born on 8 August 1950 in Paris. She is a French political woman.
She began her career as director in the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in 1975, after at the Council of State.
She worked in various departments in the Mitterrand era, always concerned by employment issues.
She became Minister of Labour in 1991.
In 2001 she succeeded Pierre Mauroy as mayor of Lille.
Appointed Minister of Employment and Solidarity from 1997 to 2000, she sign the reform of “35 hours”.
She is the first secretary of the PS 2008 to 2012.
Martine Aubry is a graduate of Sciences Po and ENA.
