He obtained his degree in Sociology from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences (Athens, Greece) in 2001. In 2002 he concluded his MSc (Master of Science) in Ethnicity and Multiculturalism in the Department of Sociology of the University of Bristol (UK). In 2007 he received his PhD from the Department of Economic and Peripheral Development of the Panteion University. His PhD Thesis was entitled: Economic Migration in Greece: Labour Market and Social Inclusion.
He has worked as a researcher in the research project Functional Borders and Sustainable Security: Integrating the Balkans in the European Union (IBEU CT-2002-00131) (2003-5) for ELIAMEP. He has also been employed as a researcher in the project Aspects of Policies for the Promotion of Social Inclusion and, in particular, in the composition of the Greek National Action Plan for Social Inclusion 2003-2005 by P. Tinios, Special Adviser to the Greek Prime Ministers office (2003).
Research Interests: He is specialised in the fields of migration, ethnicity, nationalism, and labour market and working relations issues. His research experience includes Southern, Western Europe and the Balkans
