The Citadelle Workshops

On 25 October 2018, the Lille Eurométropole Defence Security Mission (MLEDS), in partnership with the Jacques Delors Institute, organised the 8th edition of the Ateliers de la Citadelle, an annual French conference dedicated to European defence, in Lille. Entitled ‘European defence in a brutal world’, this symposium was moderated by Nicole Gnesotto, Professor of European Studies at the CNAM and Vice-President of the Jacques Delors Institute. It brought together high-level players in this field as well as numerous military personnel and students, thus responding to the Europe-citizen-defence triptych under which these workshops are held.
