The involvement of EU citizens in the European project

This synthesis by Daniel Debomy is based on the first results of the project “Horizon EU: European citizenship, a horizontal development”.
Notre Europe – Jacques Delors Institute, supported by the OPTEM network, organised in December 2013 the first stage of the project “Horizon EU”. It aimed at allowing 150 European citizens to debate about their access to the European institutions. This pan-European synthesis is based on the 18 national syntheses.
Three issues were addressed :
1. Attitudes of the interviewed citizens vis-à-vis the European Union.
2. Citizens’ information about the European Union.
3. Means of expressions of citizens’ views on the European Union.
