Born in Cà¢Câmpulung, a small town in the foothills of the Carpathians, Cristina began studying political science in Romania and continued this in Brussels and then Paris. Her three years in Bucarest might have earned her the nickname “mitică” in Timişoara (a derogatory term used by the Banatians for residents of the capital). Happily this was not the case. Instead, “European Works” has allowed Cristina, long interested in Western Europe, to rediscover her own country.
