An engineer by training, Guillaume Duval first worked for a number of multinationals in the automotive equipment and capital goods sector in France and Germany.
He then became a journalist and then editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine Alternatives Economiques, published by the cooperative of the same name.
Finally, between 2020 and the end of 2024, he was speechwriter to HR/VP Josep Borrell, the Spanish Commissioner responsible for external affairs and security policy within the European institutions.
He was also a member of France’s Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) between 2015 and 2020.
He has published a dozen books on European issues.
