José-María
García-Alvarez-Coque is a professor of agricultural economics at the
Universitat Politècnica de València-UPV.
Between 2001 and 2007,
he was chairing the Spanish Association of Agricultural Economists. In the last
20 years he has been consultant of international organisations dealing with
agriculture, food security and regional integration, with focus on Latin
America and Middle East and North Africa region.
Since 2010, he is a member of the steering
committee of the SUSTAINMED project Sustainable
agri-food systems and rural development in the Mediterranean Partner Countries (SUSTAINMED, FP7 European Commission).
