This synthesis by Claire Versini the main elements of the debates of the seminar organised in conjunction with the Historical archives of the European Union of Florence in Brussels on the 8th December 2015, between practitioners and analysts from the Delors Commissions, experts in European governance and researchers whose work has focused on the specific features of the Delors Commissions.

These debates have notably featured interventions by Pascal Lamy, Helen Drake, Piers Ludlow and Olivier Costa. They shred light on some elements which made the “Delors Commissions” success – among which elements coming from the Jacques Delors archives fund, to which Piers Ludlow had had access prior to its availability in each project partners’ venues from the 17th February 2016 – and should prove useful in enlightening today’s debates on European governance.
